Power of Siberia is the name of a large-scale gas pipeline that began pumping the first cubic meters of gas to China in December 2019.
Up to now, China and Russia have reached the final stage in the construction of the first gas pipeline, connecting Siberia to Shanghai. Power of Siberia originates from the Siberian region of Russia, officially pumping gas in December 2019. The middle part of the pipeline has also been officially put into operation since December 2020, while the southern part of the project will operate in 2025.
The Power of Siberia gas pipeline is the product of a joint venture between Russia’s state-owned oil company Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation. Up to now, the pipeline has undergone 8 years of construction.
