A series of steel enterprises adjusted to increase selling prices from today (March 15). Each ton of steel will increase by VND 600,000 compared to a week ago, bringing the domestic construction steel price close to VND 19 million a ton.
On March 15, a series of steel companies announced to increase selling prices. The two most recent adjustments were on March 5 and March 9. Specifically, Viet Duc Steel Production Joint Stock Company informed customers that it will increase by 600,000 VND/ton of steel, this price does not include value added tax (VAT).
Similarly, Hoa Phat Hung Yen Steel Company Limited, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company… also increased the selling price per ton of steel by 600,000 VND.
Like the previous price increases, the reason given by businesses is that the price of steel billets and input materials has increased so they have to adjust the selling price.
Thus, from the beginning of March alone until now, the steel market has undergone up to 3 price adjustments. The total increase was 1.6 million dong, of which the two recent adjustments were 600,000 dong/ton and on 5/3 was 400,000 dong/ton. With a common increase of 1.2-1.4 million dong per ton, steel prices at some enterprises exceeded 19 million dong.
For example, one ton of CB240 coil of Thai Nguyen steel has a new price of 19.53 million VND, CB300 D10 rebar (10mm diameter) is 19.68 million. These prices do not include VAT and are subject to immediate or delayed delivery.
The price of Hoa Phat steel in the North is 18.93 million dong per ton of CB240 steel coil; CB300 rebar is 19.03 million VND per ton. In the Central and Southern regions, these two products are also priced at VND 18.98 million and VND 19.08 million per ton, respectively.
In addition to steel, a series of other construction materials such as cement, sand, concrete… are also increasing in price, causing many worries for businesses operating in the construction sector.
