On February 25, 2022, Thilogi transported a batch of 500 tons of fruit of HNG Company from Laos through Nam Giang – Dak Taook international border gate to Chu Lai port for export by sea to China. As planned, in 2022, Thilogi will transport nearly 27,600 containers of fruit from farms in Laos and Cambodia to Chu Lai port and more than 11,600 containers of convective agricultural materials.

Exploiting the export potential of agricultural products of EWEC 2

According to statistics, the source of goods imported and exported through Nam Giang international border gate are mainly tapioca starch, re-imported machinery and equipment, construction materials, etc. Agricultural products are still quite limited although in Laos and Thailand. Lan has a lot of fruit growing areas, agricultural products are heavily invested.

Thilogi  will focus on exploiting the demand for transporting agricultural products for export in the Boloven plateau; coffee, pepper, medicinal herbs… in the provinces of Sekong, Champasack, Salavan; banana, pineapple and dragon fruit farms in Attapeu (Laos); areas growing fruit trees such as durian, mangosteen, longan… in the provinces of Ubon Raychathani, Sisaket, Yasothon, Charoen, Buriam… (Thailand). In Myanmar, Thilogi invested in developing a cross-border shipping route connecting the East-West Economic Corridor 2 (EWEC 2) from the port city of Mawlamyine to Chu Lai port for export to West Asian countries.

Simultaneously, the Company continues to invest in digital transformation, application of transportation management software (STM), port operation and ePort electronic port, improvement of quality management system; develop a team of professional personnel; at the same time speeding up the construction project of a 50,000-ton deep-water port at Chu Lai port.

Once completed, the project will open up many opportunities to exploit the region’s import and export goods, including goods from Southern Laos and Northeast Thailand through Nam Giang international border gate.
