The DOC concluded that copper pipes imported from Vietnam were dumped in the US by a margin of 8.35%, significantly lower than the dumping margin alleged by the US domestic industry of 110%.

The Department of Trade Remedies (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade received news that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) had issued the final conclusion of the anti-dumping investigation (CBPG) case on Vietnamese products. copper pipe products (Seamless Refined Copper Pipe and Tube, HS code: 7411.10.1030; 7411.10.1090; 7407.10.1500; 7419.99.5050, 8415.90.8065; 8415.90.8085) originating from Vietnam. The case has been investigated by the DOC since July 2020.

Accordingly, the DOC concluded that copper pipes imported from Vietnam were dumped in the US by a margin of 8.35%, significantly lower than the dumping margin alleged by the US domestic industry (as 110%). According to US data, the export turnover of Vietnam’s copper pipe products to the US in 2019 and 2020 is USD 146.3 million and USD 202.2 million, respectively, 20.2 thousand tons and 29.1 million USD, respectively. thousand tons.

On the basis of the investigation conclusions, the DOC has informed the US International Trade Commission (ITC) about this conclusion. As planned, on August 2, 2021, the ITC will issue the final conclusion on the damage and the causal relationship between the dumped goods and the damage. In the case of determining the damage mentioned above, the order to impose anti-dumping tax is expected to be issued on August 9, 2021.

Previously, on July 20, 2020, the DOC announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation for copper pipe products originating from Vietnam. The alleged dumping margin is 111.82%. The investigation period is from October 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.
