Coal imported to Vietnam mainly comes from 3 markets: Australia, Indonesia and Russia; these three markets alone accounted for over 85% of the total coal import turnover of the country; in which imports from Australia reached 6.75 million tons, equivalent to nearly 603.89 million USD, the average price was 89.5 USD/ton, accounting for over 41% of the total volume and total import turnover of coal of the whole country. countries, down nearly 25% in both volume and turnover compared to the first 5 months of 2020, but import prices increased slightly by 1.5%.
The second largest market supplying this group of goods to Vietnam is Indonesia, reaching 6.39 million tons, equivalent to nearly US$441.17 million, priced at US$69.1 per ton, accounting for 38.9% of the total volume and accounting for 30. .2% in total turnover, down 21.8% in volume but up 8.2% in turnover and strongly up 38.3% in price over the same period last year.
Coal imports from the Russian market accounted for 11.3% of the total volume and accounted for 13.9% of the total turnover, reaching 1.86 million tons, worth $202.6 million, down 46% in volume and down 28 % in turnover but up 33% in price over the same period.
