Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Trade (DFT) has announced that it has received a request for a period-end review of the anti-dumping duty order imposed on two aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel products and color coated steel products imported from Vietnam.
The Department of Trade Remedies (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that it has just received information from Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Trade (DFT) about the receipt of a request for a period-end review of the order to impose anti-dumping duties on two products. galvanized aluminum and zinc alloy steel products and color coated steel imported from Vietnam.

Previously, on September 18, 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Thailand initiated an anti-dumping investigation against the two products mentioned above from Vietnam.
On March 25, 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Thailand issued the final decision in the case. Accordingly, it is decided to impose anti-dumping tax from 4.3% to 60.26% for zinc-aluminum alloy coated steel and from 6.2% to 40.49% for color coated steel imported from Vietnam. The anti-dumping duty will be in effect for 5 years.
In order to best protect their legitimate rights and interests, the Trade Remedies Administration recommends relevant businesses to actively monitor and update information about the case. At the same time, regularly contact and coordinate closely with the Department to receive timely support, especially in case of unusual problems.
Generally, in the first two months of 2022, finished steel production reached 5.117 million tons, up 1.6% over the same period in 2021.
Sales of steel of all kinds in February reached 2,574 million tons, up 5.8% over the previous month and up 30.1% over the same period, bringing the sales of finished steel products in the first 2 months of 2022 to 5.014 million tons. up 18.5% over the same period in 2021. In which, exports reached 1,126,017 tons, up 11.6% over the same period last year.
In January 2022, Vietnam’s exports of finished steel products reached 815 thousand tons, down 10.28% over the previous month and down 15.8% over the same period in 2021. Export value reached US$896,000, decreased by 7.11% compared to December 2021 but increased by 43.79% over the same period in 2021.
In the opposite direction, imports of finished steel into Vietnam in January 2022 reached more than 1 million tons with a turnover of 1.07 billion USD, up 12.03% in volume and 4.59% in value compared to the previous year. same period in 2021.
