The most imported iron and steel scrap to Vietnam came from Japan, reaching 1.71 million tons, equivalent to nearly 785.62 million USD, accounting for 37.7% of the total amount of imported iron and steel scrap of the whole country. countries and accounted for 40.4% of the total turnover, down 18.4% in volume but up 37.9% in volume compared to the first 8 months of 2020.
The second largest market supplying this group of goods to Vietnam is the US with 1.22 million tons, equivalent to nearly US$523.33 million, accounting for 27% of the total volume and total turnover, a sharp increase of 111.3% in volume. and 248.2% increase in volume over the same period.
Import of iron and steel scrap from the Australian market accounted for 8% of the total volume and turnover, reaching 354,595 tons, valued at USD 163.83 million, up 67.8% in volume and 184.2 % in turnover compared to that of the Australian market. with the same period.
Imports from the Hong Kong market accounted for over 7.5% of total volume and total turnover, reaching 335,883 tons, worth 150.82 million USD, up 16.7% in volume and 99% in turnover.
