Fruit and vegetable exports to China hit a record high

Durian is the item with the strongest contribution to Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable export turnover in the past 8 months. Durian exports to China account for more than 30% of the total turnover.

It is forecasted that durian exports to this market will continue to increase, especially in the last months of the year. It is forecasted that the whole year durian will reach 1.5 billion USD, especially from now until the end of the year, almost all of Thailand and Malaysia will end the durian season. The record export to China exceeded the target set for this year’s durian of 1 billion USD. Vietnam is also speeding up negotiations to export fresh coconuts to China, promising to create high export sales together with jackfruit in the near future. For a long time, the Chinese market has consumed very strongly, mainly fresh Thai coconuts. With the advantage of close proximity, the demand for vegetables and fruits increases sharply in adverse weather conditions, so the export volume to China is increasing sharply.
